Study casts new doubts on prostate cancer test
"For years, men were told that PSA scores below a particular threshold were normal, while high results could indicate cancer, says Ian Thompson, lead author of a paper in today's Journal of the American Medical Association. His new study shows there is no safe cutoff. Instead, the risk of cancer rises steadily along with PSA levels, says Thompson, chairman of urology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio." (reference)
